Electrovoice are a world leading manufacturer of professional loudspeakers and microphones with over 90 years of experience. They pioneered microphone transducer technology in their early years and then became a leading company in developing constant directivity loudspeakers during the 1970s, resulting in developments into manifold array technology and their ledgendary MT-H range of products. Their line array systems are used around the world by many touring companies, and they also make a wide range of installation products. Partnering with their sister company Dynacord and under the leadership of the Bosch brand, they can provide a comprehensive audio solution for almost any venue.
The company came into being when two radio engineers got together in 1927 in Indiana, USA to service radio receivers and in 1930 they designed and built a PA system to help the legendary Notre Dame football coach Knute Rockne address his players on the pitch. Rockne called this system his ‘Electric Voice’ inspiring the company name.
The poor quality and high price of microphones led the pair to develop their own. By 1942 they were producing one million microphones a year!
Loudspeaker production expanded over time with more and more versatile loudspeakers being developed. Their radical design 4 way high output concert systems were used on some of the largest tours of the 1980’s by bands such as AC/DC, Metallica, Guns ‘n’ Roses & Bon Jovi.
Today, all components are designed in‑house to ensure the high performance and quality that the pro audio Electro-Voice brand is known for. They are still highly regarded for microphones and live sound systems but have added smaller high performance loudspeakers to the range for permanent installations too.
